Who we are
Nook Collective is a community gathering place at 32 Suncook Valley Rd, Alton, New Hampshire 03809, on the same property as Water's Nook. When this page says “we” or “us,” it means Nook Collective.
What we collect, and why
We only collect information you choose to send us through the forms on this site:
- The Sunday Letter: your email address, so we can send you the letter.
- Share a Lesson and Share a Tradition: your first name, email, what you share, how you'd like it credited, and an optional photo. We use your email only to let you know if your submission is featured.
- Write to Noko: the child's first name and letter, plus a parent or guardian's name, email, and mailing address. We use the address only to mail Noko's postcard and the email only to confirm we received the letter.
- Contact: your name, email, and message, so we can write back.
What we share publicly
If you share a lesson or tradition and check the permission box, we may feature it on our website with the credit you chose, like “from a grandmother in Alton.” We never publish your full name, email, or mailing address. Letters to Noko are never published.
Who else sees it
We don't sell, rent, or trade your information. Ever. A small number of services help us run this site, and they handle your information only on our behalf: our website host, Netlify, which also receives form submissions, and the email service we use to send the Sunday Letter.
Kids and Noko
Noko's World is written for children, but the Write to Noko form must be filled out by a parent or guardian, who confirms they're okay with Noko writing back. We don't knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Mailing addresses are used only for Noko's reply and are deleted once the postcard is sent. If you believe a child has sent us information without a parent's okay, contact us and we'll delete it.
How long we keep it
We keep your email on the Sunday Letter list until you unsubscribe. We keep other submissions only as long as we need them for the reason you sent them, and featured lessons or traditions stay up until you ask us to remove them.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from the Sunday Letter anytime using the link at the bottom of every letter. You can also ask us to show you, correct, or delete any information you've sent, or to take down a lesson or tradition we've featured. Just email us and we'll take care of it.
Cookies and other sites
This site doesn't use advertising cookies or sell data to advertisers. Our host may keep basic technical logs, like browser type, to keep the site secure and running. Our fonts load from Google Fonts. Links to Water's Nook's online store, Instagram, and Facebook take you to their sites, which have their own privacy policies.
Changes to this page
If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
